WordCamp NYC 2010 Has Been Announced

WordPress WordCamp was announced on August 31st, 2010 by Jane Wells. I had heard rumored a few weeks back but could not find anything. Then last night at a networking event given by Hidden Tech someone confirmed that indeed it IS happening.
Jane said “You may have heard these dates bounced around on twitter, but here is the official announcement: WordCamp NYC 2010 will be held October 16-17 at Baruch College. We are very happy to be returning to last year’s venue, and are starting to work on the plan for the event.”
She also went on to say these bullet points:
- Registration will open in mid-September, giving us a month to sell tickets. Ticket prices will probably be similar to last year.
- Speakers will be assembled from near and far. If you’re interested in speaking, start putting together your pitch. We’ll be taking speaker applications starting later this week, and will announce it here.
- Volunteers are the heart of any WordCamp, and we learned last year that we need more of them! If you want to volunteer, start thinking about your time commitments, talents, and what you’re willing to do over the course of that weekend and the weeks leading up to it. We’ll be taking volunteer applications later this week, too.
Hope to see you there.
