What is Closed Patriots
Monday, April 19th is Patriots’ Day – a civic holiday commemorating the anniversary of the Battles of Lexington and Concord, the first battles of the American Revolutionary War. It is observed in Massachusetts and Maine, and is a public school observance day in Wisconsin.
The Boston Marathon is run on this day every year. Maine’s oldest road race, the Boys and Girls Clubs Patriots’ Day 5-Miler, is held in Portland.
The Boston Red Sox have traditionally been scheduled to play at home in Fenway Park on Patriots’ Day every year since 1959. This year they will play the Rays.
DBI, UPS, and the USPS are working a regular schedule.
